With almost a decade of experience in the landscape and horticulture industry, including a Diploma of Horticulture, Diploma of Landscape Design and holds a Certified Aquascape Contractor qualification, Ben’s passion for his field continues to grow. Growing up as the son of a Builder, Ben’s interest in trade was established at a young age. Initially beginning his career as a Chef, he shifted to the great outdoors to grow his interest and skills in horticultural practices, landscape design and construction.
“When I started out working in a nursery, it blew my mind at the sheer amount of native plants we have available. When the wholesale nursery trucks would roll up, I would get so excited to see what they had to offer. And that made me want to share these amazing plants with my customers, and it still does today.”
Ben draws his inspiration from all sorts of places, but he draws the most inspiration from experimenting with the vast palates of colour, texture and combinations of what our country’s flora can offer.
“Australia has some wonderful and unique species, and I want to bring them into people’s gardens, homes and lives – and I do that by designing and creating beautiful Australian native gardens.”
When Ben isn’t designing, he’s enjoying time with his family, as well as his Border Collie and flock of backyard chooks at their home in Eltham, Victoria.
